Anyone providing driving fitness counseling or traffic psychology therapy should meet the following qualification and conduct criteria:

Qualified psychologist: Diplom-Psychologe or a Master’s degree in Psychology.
Traffic psychology training: Solid traffic psychology training as a professional foundation.
Continuing education: Regular traffic psychology continuing education.
Assessment guidelines: Knowledge and application of current assessment guidelines and evaluation criteria.
No guarantees: No guarantee promises such as “money back” or “100 percent success rate”.
Fair transparency: Fair disclosure about services, costs and payment terms.
Thorough analysis: In-depth analysis of the traffic history and violations, including document review (e.g. court rulings, correspondence with the driving license authority, driving record extract, previous assessments).
Motivational interviewing: Motivational interviewing without lecturing, reproaches or fear-based appeals.
Self-critical reflection: Development of self-critical reflections, insights and behavioral intentions — no “fabricated” stories.
Written records: Written records of the counseling process.
Certificate of participation: Certificate of participation with a written counseling outcome.
